Hello again from Miss Kenison!

Hello!  I can’t believe that it’s the end of the year, it seems like I was just introducing myself to you all!  Well it’s been a whirlwind year and I couldn’t have asked for more from you and your students.  We recently finished our tennis unit and are wrapping up the year with fitness testing while learning some classic dances like the Electric Slide and some new ones like the Cupid Shuffle.  I am proud to say that, over all, the fitness scores of Franklin students have shown GIANT improvements since the beginning of the year!  They worked hard and it shows!

As I have said before, it has been an absolute pleasure to have spent the past school year teaching your students and I can’t wait to do it again in the Fall.  As always, remember that I have an open invitation out to you all to come in and visit your student’s PE class.  The more the merrier!  If you are interested in what we are doing each week check out Franklin’s web site with a page dedicated to PE.  It has calendars, pictures, homework assignments, extra credit, and even this newsletter.

Hope to see you soon!  Stay active, stay healthy, and always have fun!

Summer Time Challenge

Attached you will find a “Summer Time Challenge,” which is a challenge to you and your family to stay active this summer.  We live in a beautiful and diverse part of the country and world so I challenge you to take advantage of it!  It’s pretty simple: put your family’s name at the top of the paper and stick it in a place where you won’t lose it, like the fridge.  Next, for every place you are active this summer write down where you were, what you did, and how long you did it for.  Then at the beginning of the 2010 school year return it back to me with your parent’s signature at the bottom.  Let’s see how far we can go and how active we can be!  Keep up the good work!

Also check out the PE calendar, homework page, and camp resources to the left!
